Departure Letter: We'll send you a Bon voyage! letter with
last-minute tour updates and tips, and an updated tour member roster and
hotel list.
Tour Packet
Two months before your tour's departure date and when your balance has been
paid in full, we will ship your tour packet to you. In our desire to make
sure everyone is properly equipped for their tour, we are including the following
items for free. Each tour member will receive:
Tour Handbook: Bring it with you and keep it handy in your day bag!
It will be very helpful for sightseeing options, smart eating and shopping,
public transportation, telephoning, etc.
Phrase Book & Dictionary: While it's not necessary to become fluent,
it's always nice to know the basics such as: Hello, Goodbye, Please, Thank
you, Where is the nearest toilette?
Hotel lists: Two copies of your tour hotel information, including
addresses, fax numbers and phone numbers. Leave one with friends or family,
and carry the smaller one in your moneybelt at all times.
Moneybelt: Everyone receives a moneybelt and each person should wear
his or her own. For comfort, carry only the essential documents and cards:
passport, plane ticket, ATM/credit cards, and extra cash. We move fast and
walk through some places (like Arles and Paris and London) that have
highly-skilled pickpockets. Tourists generally don't get mugged- but they
do get their pockets picked and their purses snatched. Because all of our
tour members use a moneybelt, we've rarely had anyone lose their valuables
(usually a time-consuming and expensive hassle to replace).
Maps: Sometimes (if we have them), we throw in a map or two of the
areas you'll be visiting.
